Your dog or cat starts itching, licking, digging…all day and all NIGHT! His ears may be goopy and stinky. His fur gets thin, sheds CONSTANTLY and may even fall out in patches. The stink, well, you know it when you walk in the door! So, you head to the vet!
Then it begins – the steroids, shots, creams, pills, medicated shampoos to the tune of $200+. And that’s just the first visit. Now, you are three years and $2000 into the cycle. Your wallet is thinner and so is your pet’s coat! Nothing really has changed except that MAYBE the symptoms let up a bit right after the shot, cream, pill. And all your companion does is itch, lick, dig and stink! No more fun romps in the park. No more sitting together on the sofa watching your favorite Lassie reruns. And heaven forbid actually taking your dog in your car!
Sound familiar?
Why are you actually at this point with your pet? There’s simply one reason. Misdiagnosis! A nutritional deficiency cannot be cured using medications!
If all the shots, pills, medicated shampoos aren’t actually working, there’s a good chance it’s a nutritional deficiency!
Makes sense, doesn’t it? You feed the same commercial, highly processed, heat processed food for months, even years. Even if you switch foods, the symptoms lessen but then return. Of course there would be gaps in your pet’s nutrition! And, because heat processing actually destroys and kills nutrients required by your pet, where would he get these required building blocks for good health, strong immune system, strong digestive tract, healthy skin and coat? The truth is, he’s not.
So, where do you start? Eliminate the nutritional gaps -> eliminate the nutrition deficiencies -> eliminate the nutrition deficiency symptoms! Now THAT’S the cycle you should be aiming for!
1. Feed a Meat Based Diet:
Whether you are using a commercial pet food, making homemade food or feeding a raw diet, the main foundation of your pet’s diet should be meat. Check the ingredients in the commercial food and make sure the first ingredient is meat and that meat is listed again in the next 2 or 3 ingredients. 
2. Eliminate Carbohydrates/Grains:
Dogs and cats are carnivores. They do not actually have a requirement for grains in their diet. However, most commercial foods and treats are loaded with carbs/grains. Once you have minimized the carbs in your pet’s food, check your pet’s treats. You know those meat and bone shaped biscuits? Most of them are simply meat-flavored corn! Feed a meaty treat instead!
3. Build on the Meaty Diet using Natural Supplements:
You may be feeding the best, meaty diet but still may be leaving nutritional gaps in your pet’s diet. The pet food industry’s definition of “complete” and the true definition of “complete” for your pet may be two very different things. Even a raw or homemade diet may be lacking because of the state of our soils and what is being fed to commercially farmed animals. Giving your pet a quality, all natural supplement to compliment their meaty diet is a great way to assure your pet is getting all those required and delicate nutrients that he may be lacking. Just like in our diets, it’s a hard task to make sure all the nutritional bases are covered every single day…so adding that quality supplement for dogs or that quality supplement for cats is the simple solution!
4. Stop using Skin Irritating Products:
Have you looked closely at the shampoo you use on your pet? What about those “pet wipes” that claim they keep your pet “fresh” between baths? Most pet shampoos and wipes are loaded up with chemicals like chlorine and synthetic fragrances that actually irritate your pet’s skin! Even those “medicated” shampoos contain chemicals, fragrances and dyes that only add to your pet’s itching problems! Opt for an all-natural, organic shampoo that contains ingredients you can actually pronounce! I’d recommend adding Dinovite Liquid directly to some raw ground beef and feeding it to your dog. You will be giving him all the great nutrients, including “good fats” his body needs without the carbs. NubOnubs are 100% beef so they are a great choice for your dog.

Cindy, we’ve been using your products on our pets for quite some time now(you can review my purchases I’m sure) and after what I had hoped would finally offer some relief from the “allergy” issues my two Shiba Inu’s have endured, we seem to be no futher than before we started!?
Initially we purchased the Dinovite bucket and added that to their food. No change, and after a long while, one of the dogs began throwing up after ingesting the product, so he was removed from the suppliment. This happened after several months, but prior to taking him off the product, hadn’t noticed any change in either dogs allergies. Kept the dog that was tolerant on the product, but still no change.
Purchased the Lick-o-chops product and used on both dogs until the supply was nearly gone(4 tubes?).
No change.
Puchased the Dinovite liquid in tubes, and started that while finishing off Lick-o. We’re nearly to the end of the second tube, with no results witnessed. In fact, I have to still give both of them hydroxizine, and started them back on Medrol(low dose) so we and they can at least sleep at nights.
Your ads say try it for 90 days, and when we finish the 3rd and last tube of Dinovite, that should be the 90 day mark.
Bottom line, maybe I’m doing something wrong, or your product doesn’t work on Shiba’s, or ….?
Yes, last year we changed them to a high protein, meat based dry dog food(Blue Buffalo?Salmon), and had also tried another expensive meat based food- which I can’t remember the name of.
This is my last shot at your product and our sanity, so hopefully you have answers?

Bill: With a bit more info. I may be able to make suggestions. What is your dog’s normal diet/food? You mention Blue Buffalo…how long have they been on this and what food(s) had they been on prior? What about treats? How long has your dogs been on steroids? How big are your dogs and how much Dinovite Liquid do they get daily?
The good news is that if both your dog have the same symptoms, that points directly at a nutritional deficiency. It looks like you have tried different products on and off, both foods and supplements. I’m trying to figure out how long they have been on Blue Buffalo and Dinovite supplements together.
Keep in mind that we use 90 days as a guideline. Dogs who have been or are on steroids have a very weak immune system because steroids are immune suppressants. This puts them in a hole that their body has to fight out of.

I had the same problem with my dogs and was fed up with all the cash going out to the vet. I had been using Dynovite powder with dry dog food from COSTC0 (lamb nuggets).
I had run out of Dynovite so re-ordered and changed the dog food to PRECISE lamb Meal and Rice SENSICARE, with treats from NATURAL BALANCE L.I.T., sweet potato and fish formula.
I also changed their shampoo to natural ingredients, NO OATMEAL; and after 90days my dogs have never been healthier and me never so pleased.

How long can Dynovite sit mixed into dog food? In otherwords, will it go bad? I have tried for a month to get my dog to eat his food with the Dynovite on it, mixed into it, and even spead between cheese and it takes him forever to eat it.

I had a hard time getting my rat terrier to eat the regular dinovite. His allergies were so bad he very little hair on his neck and back. I switched to the carnoyum and he will eat that. He has been on it for 5 years now and I wish I had heard of this stuff sooner. I spent tons of money on vet blls, shots, pills etc. He is now a happy, healthy doggie!

HI I have an 11 yr old golden retriever who has lymphoma.He was dx’d in April of last year and has been in remission since September. He has always done the itchy thing and now of course it is starting up again. We have tried numerous meds both otc and prescription to no avail. He is on various supplements from a holistic vet for his cancer, but even the onc said that the allergies could possibly trigger a loss of remission…..I want to try dinovite, but how do I know if it is compatible with all of the other supplements and meds he is currently on. ( Salmon Oil, various lympth gland supplementts such as colostrum…Naltrexone is one of the prescription meds…) My finances are at the lowest possible point and another trip to another specialist is just impossible. Wow…Lois, you are going through a lot with your dog. My prayers and thoughts go out to you. We advertise on a local radio station here in N. KY. Our sales rep has a dog named Mitchell who was diagnosed with cancer I believe it was 2 years ago. Jay put him on a raw meat diet (as he said that carbs feed the cancer) and Dinovite supplements. He went through some sort of vet treatments as well. Mitchell will be deemed “cancer free” if he gets a clear check up here in the next 3 months. He’s doing great. I would recommend looking at the ingredients in our supplement. Basically, it’s simply improving your dog’s diet. When I read about the Naltrexone, it’s an immune boosting drug. Dinovite is an immune system booster as well. Dinovite is not a medication and I have not heard of it interfering with medications, however, you should look at our list of ingredient…food type ingredients that contain nutrients required by canines. I have a question. My 5 yr. old Golden eats dry food. The breeder told us he didn’t need any can, that it was a waste of money. Now I’m reading what you have been saying and it makes sense. My question is what kind of meat either raw or can should he eat? what about cooked meat??

Adding any type of meats to your dog’s diet will improve it. Easy ways to up the meat in your dog’s diet is to feed raw ground beef, chicken or turkey. If you are making burgers on the grill, save one for your dog. Even adding meat to your dog’s diet a few times a week will improve his diet and is moving in the right direction.

My two cats, Colon and Sam, have always suffered from really bad itching and rashes. We’ve taken them to the vet before, but it never seems to help for too long. I’ve actually come to the conclusion that they are indeed suffering from a nutritional defiency. We did ahve a bad flea problem in our house though I don’t think thats the whole problem.
I might give the supplements a try. What specific nutrients do cats require alot of?

Unfortunately, cat food is loaded with carbs and fillers, and cats are obligate carnivores! This means they have no nutritional requirement for carbs! Our Starve Out Yeast diet would actually be a good diet for a cat! Cats need meat, fat and other delicate nutrients such as taurine (which many cats are not getting enough of, because commercial cat foods are not loaded with meat!). There is taurine in Dinovite Feline Liquid, as it contains chicken and fish products. There are lots of other required nutrients in Dinovite Feline Liquid as well. You will find all the ingredients at this link, including what nutrients are contained in that food source and why it is included in the supplement.

I value your product and offer it in my veterinary hospital. I think in many pets that have skin issues it works well. However, there are pet who truely have a genetic malfunction of their immune system. I believe all your recommendations are helpful but I would appreciate it if you refrain from painting all veterinarians as hardened folks who just want to take peoples money. While there may be some out there who are like that, most care deeply about their patients and the people who take care of them. If solving allallergic problems were simple, there would be no veterinary dermatologists. Antibiotics and steroids and antifungals, when used appropriately can be very helpful. I believe that if we work together as a team it is much better for pets and isn’t that what we both care most about ??

Margaret: I apologize if it sounds as if we are against vet care. We absolutely are not. Vet care is necessary for medical conditions and we recommend seeing a vet to customers whose pets have medical conditions. Some vets are right on target and have taken additional classes in nutrition and read the latest studies on nutrition. However, there are vets who will dismiss nutritional deficiency disease and treat this medically, which of course, can’t actually work. We also work with pet owners who have gone through the steroids, shots, dermatologist route with tons of money spent and no results, even after months or years of treatments. Within a few months of getting the dog off grain based commercial pet food and adding required nutrients to the diet, the dog grows hair back, heals, stops itching and shedding. I’m sure that some of these professionals care deeply for these animals and their owners and simply don’t understand nutritional deficiency disease. Antibiotics, steroids and antifungals when used correctly for specific medical issues can be very helpful, however used as a broad spectrum treatment for undiagnosed “allergies” can be harmful. I don’t believe we are on different sides. In fact if you read the article, it states that “If all the shots, pills, medicated shampoos aren’t actually working, there’s a good chance it’s a nutritional deficiency!” We never tell someone that if all the medication is actually working then it’s a nutrition issue.

I know that steriods and antibotics are VERY over used by the vets. The steriods only make the problem worse. They cause the problem you are treating to be worse than it was in about two to three weeks. Antibiotics and Steroid both break down the animals immune system. Very rarely should any animal have to take antibiotics. It should never be taken for scrapes and abrassions, minor things. After the animals immune system starts breaking down then here comes the Candida Yeast overgrowth! then the hair loss, and discolored darkened, scally, skin! And the stinky yeast in the ears! You will never make me believe that steroid and good for animals…… or me. I am not a vet nor am I selling any product. But I am thankful for people that do care about our animals health, like Dinovite. STEROIDS AND OVERUSE OF ANTIBIOTICS ARE DANGEROUS TO YOUR PET. I know this first hand. I have a Jack Russel and the vet told me they would not hurt him. Every single time I questioned him. But this sweet dog has had this Candida Overgrowth for 4 Years!! I know all Vets are not out to get your money but there is never a need for steroids on your pet and rarely a need for antibiotics.

What about steroids with autoimmune mediated hemolytic anemia. My understanding is that if the immune system is not suppressed, with steroids, the dog will die, & may die anyway.

I have a 76 pound german shephard/spitz mix. Lots of allergies. I tried the liquid Dinovite for the 90 days and saw no change. After looking at the different products you sell, I noticed that there is one for dogs who eat grain dog food (pedrigee, etc.) Is that the one I should buy? The dog is female 4 yrs and is only on steriods for a few weeks in the summer when they are the worst.

I have spent thousands on my dog, now a second dog is infected, I and the vets have no idea what the cause is. I have changed diets/ food now on duck and potato diet. About the third or fourth change to more expensive diet. My dog the original infected dog, was scratching, getting very red and and leaving scabs, or skin flakes all over our furinture. Her ears smelled and now her whole body stinks. She is part chiuahhua and english buuldog, but only 10 lbs. I also have a tea cup pomerianian, who is about the same weight. I am frustrated because thousands of dollars and two months of treatment have not worked. Our dogs were lap dogs that cuddled, and now I cant let them lay with us and want to quareentine them do their smell and skin sheddding. What can you suggest! I am desperate, It seems to be mange, but vets feel it is alllergy or unknown cause? I do not want to get rid of the dogs, but having a toddler, makes me feel like I am putting him at risk, and we seem to be locking the dogs in a room especially if we have guests, it is gross and embarrassing. What do you suggest as far as products?

This would include Dinovite Canine Liquid and LickOchops. If two dogs have the same symptoms, it is either mange or a nutritional deficiency disease. I would like to see the rest of this message also. My 9 y.o. [has hypothyroid, does not tolerate topical flea drops & medicated shampoo] beagle presents with the same signs. She has been on Dynovite for 6 years, and it has helped with the oder and her coat is soft, thicker and beautiful. It isn’t falling out like it did before. Nutrition has always been a concern since she does not tolerate beef, but loves chicken & turkey and they stay with her, as does lamb & salmon. It could be genetic, but People in town have a litter-mate (sister) of hers who has none of these problems. Prior to the start of this, when my beagle was about 2 1/2 y.o. a camping neighbor stopped in our yard with her itchy ‘adopted’ new dog to introduce him. She said he was healthy, but the shelter vet thought he was ‘nervous’. I sometimes wonder if it could be something viral that reacts based on how the pet is feeling or what is happening in their environment.

Sandra: I am actually glad your dog does “not tolerate” topical flea medication or medicated shampoo, as both of these are loaded with harmful chemicals. There are better choices, healthier choices.
As far as shelter dogs being “nervous” and itchy, it’s nothing viral or environmental in most cases. What tends to happen is that a dog is put in a very stressful environment and under these conditions, just like with people, the immune system is taxed and takes a dive. PLUS add to it that shelters exist on donations and feed poor quality, cheap food with high grain/carb content, little meat protein and little fat, no supplements, no whole foods…and again, the dog’s immune system is left to simply get weaker. When a dog’s digestive tract (immune system) is weak, a dog will itch, scratch, succumb to yeast overgrowth, etc. So, when adopting a dog from a shelter, up the nutrition. Use a homemade dog food or a high quality, meaty commercial dog food. Add whole food supplements (Dinovite plus LickOchops). Make sure the dog is getting meat, fats, vitamins, minerals, probiotics, enzymes, omega fatty acids (All contained in Dinovite plus LickOchops combination). DON”T use chemical based shampoos or flea treatments. Avoid antibiotics and steroids. Give the dog a chance to get strong and healthy.

my mini schnauzer has a bacterial skin infecton – he gets these every fall. he is currently on ceflexion and bendryl. i just purchased dinovite and was wondering if i can finish out the antibiotics while starting him on the dinovite or should i wait intil he is finished. what about benedryl and dinovite. i am hopng the dinovite will work for him as i am tired o fhim scratching all the time this is actually the worst i have seen him with skin problems this year.
i also feed him purina one but am thinking of switching to natural balance – any suggestions.

Dinovite supplements are simply whole food supplements that provide nutrients that your dog actually requires. And, the beneficial bacteria (probiotics) that are in your dog’s gut tract are being killed by the antibiotics (which kill the good along with the bad), ultimately weakening the digestive system…and ultimately the immune system. So feeding Dinovite along with antibiotics is helpful in replenishing the digestive tract with good flora.
I recommend foods that have meat listed as the first ingredient plus meat again listed in the next 2 ingredients, no or little grain and no chemical preservatives, dyes, etc. One that I have recommended in the past is Blue Buffalo Wilderness. It seems to fit this criteria.
Most, if not all, Purina dog foods use corn as their main ingredient.

I’ve always read that meat is the best for dogs, so when we adopted our Sadie after being without our German Shepherd for 2 years, I started her on a high protein (meat based diet) without grains. She’s a Corgi/Golden Retreiver mix and about 3 years old, and just this year we’ve been having awful skin and shedding problems. I’ve used only organic shampoo (as does my groomer). The vet put her on steroids and antibiotics, which rids her of the hot spots, but the cycle starts all over again every 3 to 4 weeks. I pray the Dinovite solves my problem–I just ordered it tonight, a customer of mine recommended it. Crossing my fingers!

Hi Dennis, What type of food are you feeding her now? If it’s a dry food I would recommend getting on a raw diet of some kind. My dog has been eating Blue Buffalo and has been on Liquid Dinovite since April 2011. I just changed to the powered form of dinovite but for the last 2 to 3 months he has been itching and biting at himself which he has not done before. I had used the lico-chops when I ordered the powered dinovite and started to give him that and that is when I noticed he started itching so I had stopped that, but now I doubt it was the lico-chops because he is still itching. I originally got the Dinovite because he sheds all the time, non-stop which I have to say has not really helped that much either. Do you have any suggestions as I do not want to have him start on the Benadryl or predisone cycle.

HI Sandy! I think that you may want to go back to using the Liquid supplement. The liquid supplement is a more concentrated form of the supplement. Also what the dog’s body gets used to first usually ends up working the best for him. Can I ask what the reason for switching supplements was? If it was for mess we now have brand new packaging for the Liquid! Hurray!

No, Dinovite’s products do not contribute to or make pancreatitis worse. In fact we have several customers who use the supplement for their dogs that have pancreatitis and they say it works really well for them. None of the customers whose dogs use the supplement that have the condition have had any issues with it. When you have a dog with a health condition, you want to start slowly on changes in their diet.

I have switched my dog to a raw diet. She has had her yeast starved out. Has not had a carb (as far as I know) in MONTHS. She still stinks, scratches, chews etc. Now her ears are wet. They don’t have a particularly bad smell, she is just wet and sticky all over her ears and face and shakes her head all the time. the stink is under her neck. Her fur is almost all gone. She looks BAD, but has a great attitude and is always willing to walk or play…Poor dog.
I have used both the liquid and the powder Dinovite products, however I didn’t notice a great difference in her biting, scratching etc…The smell does get better, however the ears stay wet…
I generally feed her raw chicken (leg and thigh combo) plus chicken liver and occasionally pork or beef.
Time to invest in more Dinovite, however I don’t know where to go… She is a spaniel mix weighing about 50 pounds.

Joyce: When I look at your order history, it looks as if you have used our products, but not on a daily, consistent basis. Your last order for a 3 pint jar of Dinovite powder was a 90 day supply for a 10 lb. dog and has lasted you 5 months with your 50 lb. dog. If your dog’s smell “gets better” then you are working in the right direction. But, the correct amount of powder for your dog is one scoop per 10 lbs. of weight (5 scoops) per day. The correct amount of liquid for your dog would be about 3 teaspoons. I’d recommend the large dog Dinovite Liquid individual packets. This way you would have the correct amount of product for a full 90 days in the correct amount needed per day. It will make it easier to be consistent. Giving your dog the correct food (which you are doing) plus Dinovite supplement (daily) will take care of the issues you describe.

I would like to switch my dogs to the homemade diet on your website. It says to use the higher fat ground beef. My Yorkie has had pancreatitis twice in the past. I was told by my vet that he shouldn’t have too much fat. Will this be too much for him? Using lower fat content ground beef would be awfully expensive!

Using a lower fat beef is a great option. The cost to feed a small dog this diet is not very expensive. You would use 5 lbs. of meat to make about 9 lbs. of food. And that would last your dog (about a 10 lb. dog) who would eat about 1/4 lb. per day, 36 days. I think you would find this comparable to high quality commercial dog food, but much better for your dog.

I am hoping for some recomendations for my boy.
He is a one year old JRT who is extremely flea allergic… and despite the strictest flea control, his scratching, digging, self mutilation persists.
The vet had him on steroids from the start…. both injections and pills… Duoxo shampoo, Duoxo spray.. ect… and just as you say, it helped a little bit but not nearly enough.
I eventually gave up on the vet… Eli’s skin was getting worse… and eventually his scratching got so very bad, he lost all the fur he could reach and ended up with sores. The vet put him on antibiotics for that…. but they just wouldn’t clear up. We’ve been using topicals, dressings, bandaging ect.
His skin was scaly, inflamed, some of it pussy… oh hes a mess. BUT I finally found my own solution for him that has helped more than any other single thing… I give him really HOT baths and dress him in fleece “Pajamas” which he can’t get out of or get around to scratch… if he scratches it can only be through the fleece, which offers some protection at least.
The HOT water is helping so much… his sores have healed… and he actually has 1/4 inch growth of fur everywhere that he was bald before!
It is such a relief to see how much better he is getting!
The only thing that is still bothering me is the scaliness of his skin where the sores were. That and he has started to bother his ears, shake his head real quick, ect.
My previous first choice was always to go to the vet with questions… but after this whole episode, where sometimes I thought he had done less reading on the subject than little ole me! I just don’t feel confident in them for skin issues anymore.
I would like to find out if this is some kind of secondary yeast thing? And what is the best product recommendations for our particular problems? Thanks!

Rebecca: I would recommend following the steps in this article…exactly, actually. Start off by checking to make sure you are feeding a meaty food/diet or switch to a homemade diet (link in article). Then I’d add Dinovite Liquid supplement, use DogOsuds essential oil blend shampoo (to heal the skin and kill off any yeast that may be on the skin). Don’t feed a grain filled treat, but try NubOnubs 100% beef treats. And give it a full 90 days to see these changes take affect. Meaty Diet + Dinovite Products + 90 days = Healthy Dog!

Hi, I’m confused. I have tried your 90 day supply in liquid format. During the treatment I called one of your nutrition coaches explaining my discontent with your product. I was told to finish the treatment and that in some cases a second 90 day supply may be necessary. Ok. Well of course since the first 90 day supply was not yet finished I really should finish it out and give it a chance, right? And now a second 90 day supply is being suggested. Another 100 bucks. What the heck, it’s for more beloved pooch. Oh yea, did I forget to explain why I’m confused. After speaking with another support person today to order a second round of Dinovite liquid I was told that this will most likely be an ongoing treatment to really see the benefit of your product. Yikes! So where is that little potential fact mentioned on your website. 100 bucks every 3 months! Guess that would be bad for business! I feed both my Labs Blue Buffalo.

Confused: First, let me help end your confusion. Dinovite Liquid Supplement is not a “treatment” nor a “medication”. It’s a daily supplement. Many people find us after years of “treatments” with things like steroids, antibiotics, creams, lotions, medicated shampoos, etc. which did not help their dog at all. In fact, in many cases, the dog is in worse condition. So, I understand why you would be confused, if your dog has been on medications and this is the normal “treatment”.
Dog foods are heat processed, even Blue Buffalo, which is a higher end food. In the heat extrusion process, much of the nutrition is heated right out of it. So, although your dog may be getting some meat protein in his food, delicate nutrients are destroyed, killed, obliterated. For example, Vitamin E cannot take heat, light, etc. So, your dog is probably Vitamin E deficient. Digestive enzymes are destroyed in heat. Beneficial bacteria (probiotics) are killed with heat. So your dog is not getting these in his food either. There is a whole list of nutrients that are required by canines that are not included in dog food or are destroyed in the processing of dog food.
Dinovite is a daily supplement, not a medication. It adds back into your dog’s diet the things that are being heat processed out of it or nutrients that were never present in the food. These nutrients are required by your dog but he is not getting it. So, these deficiencies show up in your dog as itchy skin, excessive shedding, paw licking, yeast issues, chronic ear issues, stinky skin (even after a bath), etc.
With a proper diet, including the nutrients your dog’s body requires, your dog’s skin, coat, immune system, digestive tract, etc. can glean the benefits of having all it needs to function properly and to be healthy. Without these things, your dog’s skin, coat, immune system, digestive tract, etc. do not have the proper tools for health.
So, as you have chosen large dogs as part of your family, the amount of supplement your large dog would require is about $1 per day. Fortunately, keeping your dog in good health with proper nutrition is much cheaper in the long run than steroids, antibiotics, medicated shampoos…all which can also affect your dog’s health adversely in the long run. Heck, just for a single vet visit for a rabies shot and a health certificate to take my healthy dog into Canada last summer, the vet bill was $90! I can’t image what ongoing vet visits cost for a dog with ongoing health issues!

Gotcha. The reason we say to give it 90 days is because so many people have that “give him a pill and the problem is solved” mentality. Most people don’t understand nutrition science and so they use the product three times and wonder why their dog still itches. With a dog who has been on steroids, which is an immune suppressant, the process to optimum health can take longer. First, the dog’s immune system must be brought to ground level…and then built up from there. This is really hard to explain in a single sentence. And, in most cases, people do see some exterior improvements in 90 days. Some tough cases, dogs who have been suffering for years, been on multiple rounds of medications, have many different nutritional deficiency disease symptoms, sure…it will take longer. But once your dog is on a highly nutritious diet including a good dog food or a homemade diet plus Dinovite supplements, those nutritional deficiency disease symptoms will be resolved…with no harmful steroids, no medications, just nutrition that covers all the bases.

Hi Cindy : I am here to tell you my dogs (2 min pins, one chihuahua and one yorkie) are all doing great since I took your advice and switched to an all meat diet. The min pins constantly scratched and were overweight, the chihuahua is just plain out picky and spoiled, the yorkie too. So I purchased all 3 of your products. Dinovite, carnioyum and lic o chops. The chihuahua and yorkie would not eat food with the supplements, but my min pins will eat it just fine. I tried the raw diet,but I couldn’t deal with it, so I stayed with the concept of all meat, I just boil it. I boil 2.5#’s of ground chuck, 2.5#’s ground turkey, 2#’s of organs ( either chicken liver or gizzards) and 21 eggs. My min pins can’t do any grains at all. Oh and three cans of green beans, they won’t eat fresh. I split the meats and eggs into thirds. I put the meat and 7 eggs and 1 can green beans with about one half cup of the water I boiled meat into a food processor, and mix until its like canned dog food, then I add 1/3 cup lic o chops and mix til well blended. This makes enough food for them for three weeks. In the morning the min pins get one tube of dinovite each. Right now I am using up the carnioyum, I bought both to see which worked best for us. They just finished up 90 days of dinovite. So now I mix one tablespoon of the carnioyum with lic o chops til it makes a paste, mix in the meat and top with 1/4 can of green beans each. The chihuahua and yorkie eat the meat mixed with ultra canned food, so they get the proper vitamins. All of them are doing great. The chihuahua eats finally without it being a major stressful thing. The min pins have stopped itching, and have lost weight. Just did our annual check up with all dogs and the vet was so happy with their skin, weight, and good health in general. Whoop whoop! I too am so pleased, the diet yoyo, and stress for all of us has stopped. All my dogs look forward to eating, and I am happy to feed. No more flaking skin, no more almost bald min pins, my min pins coats are sooooo shiney, people are constantly remarking about how beautiful their coats are. I was concerned with the carnioyum, because of the rice bran, but so far so good, and for me it’s easier than the little tubes. Thank you so much for getting me going in the right direction with their diets, and for the high quality supplements. It really is all about the meat. I see that now. No more processed food for my min pins. Their allergies have cleared up, and we live in Florida with super high pollen count. So everyone out there trying to fix your dogs allergies and still using processed food, switch, cook your own. You will save in the long run, and you and your pets will be happier. It doesn’t cost me anymore to cook, than it did to buy the expensive high quality food. Not to mention to see the food I use to use Natural Balance show up on the recall list. I have (2) miniature dachshunds, one is a long-hair. He is the one having the itching issues. Has been for months. I’ve also had him to the vet, who said he was “allergic to fleas”. I had not found fleas on him, so I was confused by this, but gave “Perry” the steroids prescribed. This helped, but did not get rid of his itch problem. That visit cost me over $200. Seems to me if ONE dog had a flea problem, the other would as well. But I’m not a vet. ; )
After reading some of the comments above, I recognize symptoms from my male long-hair – smelly ears, itchy, red, scaly, scratchy, flaky, dirty, disgusting ears. The constant flap-flap-flaping of the head back and forth. Digging, biting, kicking, whining and itching some more. I feel so bad for my dog. :*(
I’ve purchased the DynoVite and admit I wasn’t that great at making sure my dogs had it every day (after the first couple of weeks) and I still have quite a bit of it left, so I’m going to start with that again. I was feeding them sweet potato and fish dry dog food, and it helped as well, but it didn’t “cure” my dog. I only bought sweet potato and fish treats, too. Still no cure. Oatmeal baths didn’t help either. (sigh)
I also tried feeding them the “raw food” recommendation on Dynovite, but hamburger is expensive anymore. I like the idea Tonja (above) had with blending up what she gives her dogs in a blender to mix it better. Hadn’t thought of that.
My question .. (finally .. ; ) is – I’d like to get my dogs on the Dynovite plan, but I need it spelled out for me what you would recommend for Perry (and his Mama, who doesn’t itch). If I have to make this a life-long commitment, I’m willing to do so, just to ensure little Perry isn’t continually miserable, as he has been. I hope it doesn’t break me financially, but if I need to get another job to supplement this treatment, I will.

One more thing to add .. I’ve been using hydrogen peroxide on cotton balls to clean Perry’s ears outside (and inside), and alternating this with Witch Hazel on a Q-Tip (being VERY CAREFUL) for the black , smelly gunk (I assume is ear mites or flea poo?) inside his ears. I do this 3x/week .. and use about 6 Q-tips each time .. it’s so disgusting. I just want to help my dog. I want him to feel better and not be miserable all the time. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have a homemade recipe w/o the rice. I want my dog on no grains……..using rice would defeat the purpose. I have been just been giving her chicken w/bone and she has been doing fine. My concern is the supplement of vitamins. She is 10 months old shepherd/lab mix.

We’ve been using Dinovite products for maybe a couple years for out wire haired terrier, Duncan, and have also changed him from a dry dog food to a raw meat diet. He is a very healthy guy at this point. The purpose of this note is to tell you about a recent serious concern we had about Duncan. He wasn’t feeling himself so we took him to our vet and learned that his liver enzyme’s were dangerously high.
Knowing that we were feeding a raw meat diet the vet thought one of the possibilities was a liver parasite. One round of the anti parasite medication and 1 month later his enzyme levels were NORMAL. We believe the parasite may have come from raw pork.
In one of your comments to another customer regarding a raw meat diet your answer said any raw meat was good (this may not be an exact quote). My decision to use raw pork in Duncan’s diet was mine so I take full responsibility and I do know that humans should not eat raw pork but just didn’t make the connection to my dog. We used pork loin meat because it was “cheap.”
I hope other pet owners feeding a raw meat diet are not using pork products.

Cindy: I’m happy to hear Duncan is doing just fine. I am also thrilled you have him on a homemade dog food and Dinovite supplements, which is such a great combination for good health! I would have to disagree with you about raw pork, unless you are raising the pork yourself or got it from a local farmer. The regulations surrounding raising pork for commercial sale has all but eliminated parasites in pork. You no longer have to cook pork to death to kill parasites that used to be found in pork. I would find it more likely that your dog acquired parasites from anything he could come into contact with outside such as mice, chipmunks, squirrels…even droppings from these animals like bunny poop. These types of animals can absolutely carry parasites, all kinds of them. I don’t normally feed my dogs pork, as I find it to be a bit expensive comparatively. If you are looking for an inexpensive meat, chicken is about as cheap as it gets.

I have a dog that is a mess. Lots of the same symptoms as all the above posts. Have started him on the raw diet and also the dinovite. I understand that it takes time but what do I do for the itching and open sores and flea issues we are having in the meantime as his health is improving. I did buy your flea treatment but it does not seem to do anything. I have tried the shampoo also. Again, I know it takes time so am not giving up on the stuff just need to know what is the best thing to help him while he is getting healthier. I do not want to give him the tradional flea treatment as he has a terrible reaction to it and we have tried for over a year to get the problem under control with natural remedies to no avail. I know it is internal but what do I do externally to help him while he is healing internally. Thanks!

Kendra: I would recommend using DogOsuds a couple of times a week to help your dog if he’s itching or has yeast on the skin, etc. I know some folks who have used benedryl, however I have never done that myself.

I have a Westie, a health puzzle that I have been trying to put together for 6 years. Admittedly, I am a stay at home dog mom and researched and tried everything except the dog allergist! I have done shampoos, meds, hundreds of $$ in meds and Dr visits ! Still she licked her feet bald little swollen feet all night! One day out of exhaustion, I stopped. No more baths, no more meds, vaccines, flea pills, heartworm, NOTHING! After 3months I slowly started to see minute improvements. Encouraged I started improving her diet. She was eating a good diet of Halo dry and Blue Buffalo can. I stopped all of it and switched to the dinovite diet. She is getting better and better. After trial and error I found she cant eat ANY grains! No barley, oatmeal, wheat, rice! Just the meat and eggs and I put raw kale in her food too. I have even noticed the black skin on her legs and belly is starting to go away. The Lavender Dog o Suds shampoo is the best I have EVER used. I think I have found the right combination for Lola – no Comfortis (flea meds), minimal vaccines, the raw diet, extra omega 3 skin and coat treats (Pet Naturals of Vermont) and happy hips chews for treats. Hope this helps, I know how frustrating a scratchy smelly Westie can be!

Wally is over 10 years old and is almost always itchy. He rubs himself and licks and chews his paws until there is no hair on them. He has scabs all over him at the moment. He has been on temaril now for it but his dosage has been reduced to avoid damage to his organs. I am trying the homemade-like a meatloaf diet- beef, rice and hard boiled eggs along with the supplements I ordered from you. He has been on it for about 1 1/2 weeks. I am hoping and praying this works. He is a good boy and we love him and we hate to see him suffer this way.

This sounds like a carb issue. When a dog has too many carbs and grains in his diet, this
can feed the natural yeast in the gut tract. This yeast will then keep growing and feeding and multiplying and finally spread to other parts of the body where it should not be. (i.e. ears, paws, skin etc…) This is one of the most common causes for itchy skin, skin irritations and rashes, ear infections, licking and biting the paws etc. HEre’s a link I think will help you out: Understanding yeast infections in dogs.

I have a Westie too that I have been dealing with this problem for about 3 years and have spent hundreds of dollars and have resorted to the allergist at about $400.00 per month. I can’t keep doing this and am very frustrated with the whole sitiatuation and feel so bad for her. Eye, ear, skin and mounth infections. She has been on a consistant regimen of antibiotics and steroids and she has recently been given a medicine for yeast infection that allerted me to start investigating this. I need help!!!!!!

Thanks to you I feel like there is hope for my Westie “Scrappy” ………We have been to the vet and spent hundreds of $$$$ on meds just to have him still licking and itching his skin…(it looks more like thick rough elephant skin is more like it) What do you recommend that I do first? He is currently taking a 5mg steroid every other day and, of course, it does not prevent the itching at all! I even switched to the vet formula dog food which is more expensive to say the least! The large bag runs $72 and last maybe three months. He just ran out of his steroids and I am not going back for another vet visit just so they can make money at my expense!

I have an eight pound Chorkie that for the last three years has a yeast secondary infection. My vet has her on Hills Prescription d/d. I choose duck & potato. No results. Roxie has been to the vets more than I go to my own doctor, she’s been on anti biopics, I don’t do heavy vaccinations, she is on steroids, creams, shampoos etc. So, now I’m trying this diet with Dinovite and Lickochops. Just want to say thank you dinovite. My dog, Boudreaux has been on steroids since we have basically had him. He is what we call a Heinz 57 dog. LOL. I think he is some red heeler-shepherd mix. He was a rescue dog from the local pound he was just a puppy when we got him. From the very beginning we determined he was allergic to corn and chicken and constantly tried new foods to try and control his itching. For five years he has had several steroid shots a year plus several bottles of medicine. Boudreaux has been on dinovite for 30 days and the itching has almost come to a complete stop. I have told everyone that would listen that dinovite is a dream come true. Thank you donovite.

I have read each statement above and I have come to the conclusion that we have all had to become part medical professional and part researcher of medicinal supplements. Even our Universities are suffering from lack of students entering into the vet world without being research minded and open minded to new concepts that work. I have bred dogs for 22 plus years and frankly the only person I truly trust treating a dog of ours, is myself. I do have a wonderful vet, but she is so busy that she does not have the time to grow from the old tried and true methods, and that’s a shame. Even our personal physicians are on the same scale. Not bad people by any means, but you better have some knowledge of the medical profession and read every research method book you can get your hands on. I have spent a average of $500.00 plus, per month trying to keep my dogs well treated, but I have lost pups and dogs due to opinions, rather than facts. I am trying Dinovite as a last resort for one of my studs that has been given every conceivable “cocktail” there is and frankly I am fed up with exploration! I am a results oriented person. Whether from myself, my dogs, my doctors. I will not be convinced that there is not a treatment out there! I am nearly 30 days into Dinovite and I am not seeing any progress, but I am staying the course. I owe it to my dog.

I have tried the Dinovite powder on my 5 yr old Pomeranian. He didn’t eat it very good, so I quit. A year ago he was diagnosed diabetic and still has allergies. I’m considering the liquid. He pretty much gets a raw diet now, but since many carbs aren’t good for him, what else would you suggest? I’m also going to try the NubOnubs because he usually gets a treat after his insulin shot morning and night, and it’s hard to find anything without sugars.
