There. I said it! It’s the dirtiest word I know! It brings many angry words of rebuke from people who order online, from us or anyone else!
So, let’s just get it all out on the table.
We are a pet products company, NOT a shipping company. We charge for all natural and organic pet products to improve the health of your dog in a natural and helpful way. We don’t actually charge for shipping, however we do have to collect money for shipping-which goes to our shipper to get your package from us to you.
USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL…all charge for shipping. So, when someone offers “free shipping” as a constant, they have really just padded their product prices to include shipping. Believe me, they are paying someone to deliver your product.
Trust me. We’ve tried a number of shippers. What is important to us is that your product arrives in a timely manner, in tact and can be tracked from us to you. If something happens to your package, we can rectify the situation immediately and that neither you, or we, are charged for mistakes made by the shipper.
To date, we have found only one shipper to do this consistently and in most cases, excellently. Of course, there are incidents here and there, however our shipper knows us, knows our products and is eager to fix any mishap that may occur, and it doesn’t cost you or us a dime so that we don’t have to again, pad product costs to cover shipping mishaps.
Some shippers, USPS, will tell you they have tracking but actually they don’t. You can see when your package was picked up and when it arrives on your end with no information in between. Some shippers, USPS, will also say that they “insure” your package, which is again, untrue. They ask that you “prove” what was in the package and then it can take up to 60 days to remedy the situation and you have to keep up with, it or it falls through the cracks. Some shippers will tell you that their “priority” shipments have a specified delivery time frame, but read the small print; it’s not actually guaranteed.
If you order a single product that costs $25, shipping from us to you may cost about $11. If you order 5 products that cost $50, shipping from us to you may cost also about $11. Ordering more, less often saves you money in two ways. First and obviously, in shipping costs and possibly less obvious, it saves you money on our products, as we have bulk discounts on just about everything we sell. Order one product for full price, order 3 of the same and get a discount off each product.
What this means is that it can take 5-6 business days to get your package once it leaves our facility. So, if you order on a Friday evening, we get your order on a Monday morning. We print it and send it out to our guys in the warehouse to actually pack your order and get it ready for shipping. Mondays are the craziest because we pack all the weekend orders. So, your order may not go out until Tuesday and if you live in California, your package will arrive the following Tuesday.
Give it a 24 hours or so (except on the weekends) and then log into your account to check the status of your order. You will be able to see your tracking number and link directly to your package’s progress.
…and, every single one of our costs for anything shipped TO us (ingredients, product packaging, shipping boxes, bubble wrap, etc.) continues to go up and up and up. BUT, we have determined to keep our product costs steady for as long as we possibly can to help our customer’s pets maintain optimum health. HOWEVER we do not control shipping costs. Shipping costs will continue to climb as long as fuel costs rise. Of course this makes sense. And, of course no one likes it. But, ultimately, unless you are picking up your products from our facility (which is an option) then shipping has to happen.
Rarely, if ever, do we offer free shipping. We don’t pad our product prices to be able to do this. However, we will and do offer free products and money off promos. We try to do this on a regular basis but please understand our heart. We have not raised product prices since 2008 so that our customers can continue to afford our products for their pets. In doing so, our profit margin continues to shrink and we simply cannot do this for all orders, all the time.
We recommend ordering 4-6 times a year; order enough for several months at a time; save on shipping costs and by taking advantage of our bulk product discounts.
We offer great whole food supplements and treats, organic shampoos and flea products and TONS of customer support and educational information so that you not only can get and keep your dog at optimum health but understand HOW and WHY the choices you are making are working! We work with customers to understand nutritional deficiency disease and how it manifests itself in their pets. We continue to research and develop new, top of the line, natural and organic products that WORK! And, in the end, most of our customers SAVE MONEY by keeping their dog healthy and not running to the vet for nutritional deficiency disease symptoms! Most of our customers just count shipping costs into this equation.
