Allergies, Ear Infections, Gas, Arthritis, Kidney Stones.

Today we’re going to take a peek into the top most common and misunderstood ailments that plague our furry BFFs in this age of constant precautions and heavy vaccinations. Hear what some people are saying about how they saved money, worry, and ultimately their pet’s lives!

The #1 top issue dog owners are fighting today is skin “allergies” or irritations.  These can range anywhere from a small hot-spot to all over itching, redness, raw sores etc. For Duffy, adding a nutritional supplement to help build up his body really paid off!

Adding a nutritional supplement to your dog’s diet can really help to improve not only their outward troubles, but can help to build up their immune systems as well to help KEEP them healthy. Did you know that many pets “allergies” and ailments return after stopping meds, or after prolonged use of meds? Why? Well, the body builds up immunities, or becomes responsive the longer they are on a medication. Also a lot of pets’ irritations return after quitting the medication due to the treatment of only the symptoms, not the CAUSE of the symptoms. Dinovite canine supplement is a great way to build up the immune system and help their body naturally fight that itchy skin!

The second most misdiagnosed problem is an ear infection. Most of us are under the impression that an ear infection is caused be too much moisture in the ear, either from constant swimming, or a dog with floppy ears having trapped moisture. While this can be an irritant, it is not usually the cause of this painful and often “chronic” issue. When a dog eats a grain or carb like corn or wheat, these carbs break down into sugars in their body. These sugars feed the natural yeast bacteria culture usually living in the intestines that aids in digestion. When this becomes a routine part of the diet, the sugars begin to multiply faster than the body can handle causing the yeast levels to rise extensively eventually taking over and spilling our of every orifice ( i.e.  skin, pads of paws ears ect.) So, what to do when you’ve got yeast?

Change the diet! Look into raw foods, or if you prefer dry kibble, a food that is grain free. They are out there! Dinovite Canine is a great way to help rid your pooch of those painful ears!

Gas and digestive problems are often misinterpreted as an allergic reaction to their food when in fact, they just need a food made of meat rather than corn and grains as these are difficult for canines’ body to process. Also, including a nutritional supplement can really help to break down their food and help the body to absorb more of the nutrients as well. Dinovite CarnOyum is great for elderly dogs (and is what I personally use! ) And according to Max, it works for him too!

This next condition is one that many pet owners are fighting with their senior pets and is considered something that “just happens” to pets when they get older. Arthritis is a common issue that is actually preventable! Contrary to popular belief Arthritis can actually be treated naturally and actually prevented in some cases. My Dog Cinder is a 13 yr. old Patterdale terrier. She used to have trouble jumping into her nest box at teh kennel she used to live at. When we adopted her, we changed her diet to a grain free dry food called Taste of the Wild and a raw meat food called Freshpet Select (I get mine from our Kroger grocery store, however, there is a place on their site to search for stores in your area that carry it.) I feed about a quarter slice of the Freshpet, along with about a quarter cup of the Taste of the Wild dry. (My dog is about 15 lbs. You can adjust the amounts of food to fit your dog’s size.) Then I add 2 Tablespoons of powdered CarnOyum canine supplement and a nice big squirt of LickOchops Chicken Gravy (this really helps her joints!)

and now she has been able to jump the baby gates to get out of our kitchen! Quite a surprise when she met me at the front door! I had to get a taller baby gate!

And last but not least, Kidney stones/crystals. Contrary to general census, feeding a meaty food to your dog or cat does not create kidney stones and crystals. Dry kibble alone as a diet CAN lead to insufficient moisture and this can pose a serious threat to the kidneys. Having less water in the diet can affect the kidneys’ function becoming a seriously dangerous condition. Less moisture means the kidneys are not flushing properly allowing the food and minerals to not fully absorb. These deposits in the kidneys are what form into crystals and stones being a very painful problem for your pooch.

Many Veterinary prescribed foods for kidney disease, or kidney stones and crystals can actually be MORE dangerous than your average store bought kibble. This is because some studies show a kidney stone is a build up of solid minerals. These Prescribed foods are usually made of synthetic ingredients or meatless formulas claiming to be “hypoallergenic.” To help your dog or cat avoid kidney issues, I would recommend lowering the amount of kibble fed, and supplement with some raw ground beef or if your busy, the Freshpet select is good. happy black Friday!! OK I am using the powder dinovite and the lickochops. the gunk in my furface’s eyes has lessen however his licking of his paws is still driving him and I crazy! what can I do? I have him on innova perhaps going to change to Blue

Kathy: I see you have been using this product for about 10 days. I would encourage you to be consistent and persistent…and patient. MEATY DIET/FOOD + DINOVITE + 90 DAYS = Healthy Pet! Also, paw licking can be a symptom of yeast issues. I’d recommend reading our article on yeast issues, it’s symptoms and how to rid your dog of this. You may also consider our homemade diet (with no rice but extra eggs) to eliminate carbs in your dog’s diet (which feeds the yeast).

Afterany visits to vets still have mucous in eyes sometimes and always hair loss Vet now says not to breed shepherds as their flea allergies is immunodificientcy and inherited gene. not all in same litter have and so far this is th only dogs that have it I am getting it together and planning your program It has been so expenive for my own medical lately and need someone to help right now anyway what are your views still itcy-hair loss etc its not mange Aloha Dorothy 808 575

today my small (6lb) poodle would not eat–this is not like her at all– she is always ready to eat– she keep moving– lays down the moves alittle — I think she might have gas pain or tooth ache– she comes to her food take a smell and then turns away. what can be down for stomach dicomfort?

Loretta: This could be just about anything, from an upset stomach to a blockage to a toothache. Of course, as I do not know your dog’s diet or history, I can’t begin to guess what the issue is. I would keep a close eye on her to get a better idea of what may be going on with her and seek vet advice if and when needed.
