The History of Dinovite®
Pet Supplements that Work!
We are a family owned and operated company whose entire existence revolves around the love of pets, training dogs, and breeding dogs. Over the years we have tried many pet health products in our struggle to help keep our many pets and dogs' health in top-notch condition. We’ve tried reasonably priced dog food, dog supplements, reptile products and health products that had little or no nutritional value, and products that offered somewhat better nutrition, but at very high prices.
When we fed our dogs low-price, low nutrition dog food, our dogs' health suffered. They scratched continuously and shedding was a huge problem. After they had their pups and were nursing, our poor mother dogs looked like hairless rats. Once weaned, the pups would begin to develop itchy hot spots and funky odors!
We tried high-price higher nutrition dog foods – with lots of meat, cereals and veggies. But they are all cooked or irradiated during the manufacturing process. Heat destroys a lot of the "good stuff" like fragile enzymes and Direct Fed Microbials. So even the more expensive pet products didn't perform much better. We even tried a whole food diet recommended by other dog breeders, which was messy and tremendously time consuming.
A wise man once said, “If you want something done well, do it yourself.” Following that sage advice, in the late 1990’s I started to apply what I had learned about overall pet nutrition to the problem of feeding my own dogs well.
I read everything I could get my hands on about canine digestion, the canine immune system, and the types of vitamins, Direct Fed Microbials and other nutrients dogs need to stay healthy and happy. I mixed up my first batch of “food supplement” in a blender in 1998. Two or three years later, my wife Cindy said, “I don’t know what you’re doing out there in the shed, but Polly (our pooch) doesn’t shed anymore!”
