Tips for Feeding Dinovite Dog Supplement
Use 1 tablespoon for every 10 pounds of body weight, daily.
If your dog eats twice daily, you can divide the amount between the meals.
To use Dinovite we recommend mixing a little water with the food so that the Dinovite will stick to the food. If your dog does not like water in his food you could mix a teaspoon of canola oil with his food then add the supplement, this will help the Dinovite stick to the food. Kind of like shake and bake breading. For some reason most dogs love this combination.
Here is another easy method to get finicky dogs to eat the Dinovite. Scramble up a raw egg yolk in a bowl and mix a couple tablespoons of Dinovite with the raw egg yolk. Feed the raw egg yolk and Dinovite "goop" to your dog. Many dogs love this mixture and it is easy to do. If your dog needs more scoops use another egg yolk. I've found 2 scoops Dinovite for 1 egg yolk works well. If your dog needs less scoops just mix less with the one yolk. The raw egg yolk is also very good for your dog.
For SUPER finicky dogs:
Try starting off with just a pinch of Dinovite in the bottom of your dog's bowl and put the dog food on top. Don't mix it at all. Let him eat down to it. Do this for 2 to 3 weeks, replacing the pinch as needed. Your dog will slowly get accustomed to the smell of Dinovite and it will enter the food category "in his mind". Most all finicky dogs will take to Dinovite in this manner.
I've found it to be more of a habit/confusion issue than a taste thing. Although it looks like it is a taste issue for the observer.
* An interesting point*
-These same dogs who will initially refuse anything with Dinovite on it, after using the above mention method, will later refuse anything without it. It is truly weird but this method works well.
